1、 Instrument background
In chemical machinery, nuclear industry, shipbuilding, boiler and other manufacturing industries, pressure vessels, pipes, components, heads and valves are welded with austenitic stainless steel and duplex stainless steel. Usually, the welding of stainless steel vessel with different media requires different ferrite content. Because, from the perspective of weldability (crack sensitivity), the content of ferrite should be higher than 5%, from the perspective of corrosion resistance, ferrite content should be higher than 8% in general medium; but in medium such as urea, it should be less than 0.5%; from the perspective of mechanical properties, especially for welds working under medium and high temperature, less than 5% is appropriate, otherwise sigma phase embrittlement will occur. The ferrite content of duplex stainless steel is required to be between 30% and 60%. Therefore, in the welding production and scientific research of austenitic stainless steel, it is necessary to conveniently and accurately control and measure the ferrite content in weld or deposited metal and clad weld.
2、 Brief introduction of the instrument
The instrument is a new generation of ferrite content detection equipment, mainly for the measurement of ferrite content of austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel (ferritic stainless steel) and weld. Its application involves chemical machinery, boiler pressure vessel, pipe fittings and stainless steel industry. The instrument uses a larger LCD display, the display content is more clear, organized and comprehensive; the use of all stainless steel probe, more durable; the use of more advanced core components, the test repeatability is more stable; the use of more sophisticated and mature calculation program, the measurement error is further reduced.

3、 Principle of measurement
Principle of magnetic conductivity: ferrite content is determined by permeability. The main performance parameters are obtained on the basis of a large number of experimental samples in famous laboratories and stored in the instrument. Through the correct calibration of the standard block to measure the ferrite content, the measurement accuracy has been improved.
